Pradėdama fotografuoti šį projektą menkai žinojau apie socialinius būstus ir apie aplinkybes, dėl kurių žmonės į juos įsikrausto - daugiavaikė šeima, negalia, skurdo riba. Neretam žmogui išgirdus žodžių junginį ,,socialinis būstas" į galvą ateina asocialių, destruktyvių asmenų vaizdai, dažniausiai spaudos suformuoti stereotipai. Savo projektu norėjau sugriauti šį nusistovėjusį mąstymą ir papasakoti apie kuriančius, ypatingai stiprius, pozityvius žmones, kurių likimai yra neeiliniai, kupini išbandymų. Pažintis su jais nekelia užuojautos, o atvirkščiai - fotografijų herojai įkvepia savo dvasine stiprybe. Žvelgiant į namų interjerus supranti, kad visi kūrybiniai sprendimai, prisidedantys prie namų jaukumo, byloja apie žmonių gebėjimą kurti grožį, puoselėti savo viziją nuvejant pilką kasdienybę. Jie Vilniaus miesto savivaldybės ir SĮ „Vilniaus miesto būstas“ pagalba gautus socialinius būstus pavertė jaukiais ir tvarkingais namais.
Džiaugiuosi, kad fotografija man atveria duris į žmonių namus ir širdis. Fotografavimo procesas buvo toks: aš vykdavau pas socialinių būstų gyventojus į svečius, fotografavau jų interjerus, portretus, bendravau su jais. Tačiau kiekvieną kartą įžengdama pro duris aš išgyvendavau keistą ir nuostabų bendrystės jausmą, kad visiškai nepažįstamas žmogus mane, nepažįstamą žmogų, fotografę, įsileidžia ir parodo savo namus, papasakoja savo gyvenimą. Ši patirtis man kaip menininkei buvo labai jautri ir įkvepianti.

When I started photographing this project, I knew little about social housing and the circumstances that led people to move into it - a large family, disability, poverty. When people often hear the phrase "social housing", images of antisocial, destructive individuals come to mind, usually stereotypes formed by the press. With my project, I wanted to break this established thinking and tell about creative, exceptionally strong, positive people whose destinies are extraordinary and full of trials. Getting to know them does not arouse sympathy, but on the contrary - the heroes of the photographs inspire with their spiritual strength. Looking at the interiors of the houses, you understand that all the creative solutions that contribute to the coziness of the house speak of people's ability to create beauty, to nurture their vision while driving away the gray everyday life. They turned the social housing received with the help of the Vilnius City Municipality and the Vilnius City Housing Association into cozy and tidy homes.
I am glad that photography opens the door to people's homes and hearts for me. The process of photography was as follows: I would visit residents of social housing, photograph their interiors, portraits, and communicate with them. However, every time I walked through the door, I experienced a strange and wonderful sense of communion, that a complete stranger would let me, a stranger, a photographer, in and show me their home, tell me about their life. This experience was very touching and inspiring for me as an artist.
